Voltaren Osteo Gel 12 Hourly is a pain relief medication that is used to treat the pain of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and ankylosing spondylitis. It works by providing relief from inflammation and pain in joints such as the hands, wrists, elbows, knees and spine. Voltaren Osteo Gel 12 Hourly is formulated with a combination of diclofenac and a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), diclofenac. Diclofenac is an oral medicine that works by blocking the production of prostaglandins in the body which cause pain and inflammation.

Indications

Voltaren Osteo Gel 12 Hourly is indicated for the relief of the following:

Voltaren (diclofenac sodium), sold under the brand name Voltaren Emulgel, is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) analgesic widely used to treat pain in adults and children ages 4 years and older. Its active ingredient, diclofenac sodium, belongs to a class of medications called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Uses of Voltaren (diclofenac sodium)

Voltaren is primarily used for the relief of pain, inflammation, and swelling associated with:

  • Arthritic Pain (Lyme disease)
  • Ankylosing spondylitis (AAS)
  • Acute myelogenous leukemia (ASSILD)
  • Cancer
  • Dental pain
  • Pain during dental procedures

Dosage of Voltaren (diclofenac sodium)

General Instructions

Follow the instructions on your prescription label. Do not use more, or take it longer than prescribed.

Voltaren should be used with a reduced-calorie, should-not-overdose (RIN) stomach-ILD food (meats) or with the full-fatty-SR formula (fatty fish oil) for as long as it is used. Do not use it for more than 2 weeks unless otherwise directed by your doctor.

Ask your pharmacist or doctor before use if you:

  • Are pregnant or intend to become pregnant
  • Have kidney or liver disease
  • Are allergic to diclofenac or any other ingredients in Voltaren products
  • Have a history of ulcers or bleeding with NSAIDs, or any other medications

Voltaren is indicated to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and alleviate symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis in children, adults, and the prevention of acute pain associated with dental procedures, and minor injuries. Voltaren is also used to treat acute pain in adults with inflammatory bowel disease, including an NSAID (e.g., ibuprofen or naproxen).The recommended dosage of Voltaren (diclofenac sodium) for adults and children 4 years of age and older is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Do not take more than directed (100 mg/day) or use only the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time. Do not increase or decrease your dose. Follow your doctor’s instructions.

Ingredients

Instructions

Use Voltaren Emulgel up to 2 hours before or after taking aspirin, other NSAIDs or ibuprofen. Voltaren Emulgel can be applied to the skin only. Do not cover the wound. apply 2 times a day for 4 days. The gel should be used for 1-2 hours before or after taking aspirin, other NSAIDs or ibuprofen.
